Technical Specifications
If your file conforms to the following specifications you will not incur additional charges or delays. Files that are not RIP-Ready may incur additional charges and delays.
We accept files in the following formats:
• PDF (preferred) see our PDF Tips page
• Adobe Photoshop (TIFF, EPS, High Res JPG - CMYK)
We DO NOT accept files in the following formats:
• .ai
• PageMaker
• Publisher
• Microsoft Word
• .EXE files (executable)

File Transfer via FTP Easy Uploader on Order Form - compressed format, with this format you can put all your files into one folder for ease and security when uploading. Free software to compress files is available here |

PDF High Resolution CMYK colour format for PRESS quality printing with fonts embedded (no transparency). Using InDesign, export to PDF/X-1A:2001, Acrobat 4 compatable (see link for more info) |

Document prepared in finished product size plus any 1/8 inch bleed all sides*, bleed is needed if final product has image that runs to edge of card. If a two sided card or brochure, page 1 can be front and page 2 can be back, if a multi-page program, then make the document have the same number of pages as the final printed product (24 page pdf for a 24 page program for instance). Templates for many products can be found here |

Corel Files: All text converted to outlines and exported to .ai format (do not use "patterns") |

A Bit about Color:
A reasonable variation in color between original materials, proofs and the completed order, will constitute an acceptable delivery. East Van Graphics will reproduce color as closely as possible, but due to the difference in equipment and conditions between color proofing and pressroom operations, East Van Graphics cannot guarantee exact color matches.

Proofing (color variation)
A Bit about Black:
A safe rich formula is 100K 60C 40M 40Y, used for backgrounds and borders only, never text.
In order to get a rick solid black background, we recommend you use:
60% Cyan, 40% Magenta, 40% Yellow, 100% Black. Please do not use 100% Black only (this will print out grayish).
For Black text on a light background please use only 100K and not the rich black mix.
Trapping:
Do not trap your files. Trapping is handled at the RIP stage.
